TD Jakes is the larger-than-life senior pastor of The Potter's House, in Dallas, Texas. This is a megachurch that consists of 30,000 members. On January 20, 2009, Jakes conducted the morning prayer meeting for the then President-elect Barack Obama at St. John's Church in Washington, DC.

His church services and messages are broadcast all over the world. TD Jakes is a powerful speaker and preacher whose sermons are beamed nationally and internationally over television and satellite television .

Born Thomas Dexter Jakes, this multi-talented pastor is also a well-known writer and has authored over 30 books, that have regularly featured on the New York Times best-sellers list.

He is also a singer/songwriter. His rcord label is Dexterity Sounds which he founded.

The Potter's House, is a ministering church reaching out locally and internationally. They have worked with drugs and alcohol abuse visctims and provided help and counselling services to poor and homeless, the aged, prostitutes and victims of violence and domestic abuse.
